Noury is a third year Literary Studies major. She has loved and appreciated the value of literature throughout her whole life, believing that books offer a second space to form an identity. As a bilingual person fluent in both Arabic and English, she hopes to eventually pursue doctoral studies in Comparative Literature. Her favorite authors stem from Naguib Mahfouz all the way to Viet Thanh Nguyen (Nguyễn Thanh Việt)! Her current passion is finding recipes for food that correlate with the books she reads and accompanying that with different music genres. She finds that combining various forms of art has enriched her reading experience
Esther Holzmeister

Esther Holzmeister is a senior in the Modern Language program. She enjoys editing and writing in her language, Spanish. Esther loves teaching and helping young people in her community, so she is a tutor at Chaffey College and also works as an Instructional Aide/Special Education/ Bilingual at CVUSD. Esther and her husband, Oscar, are proud parents of their four sons. Their oldest son will graduate as a Computer Science Engineer in winter. Their middle son is in high school and is going to graduate in the same spring semester as her. Esther was encouraged to become an educator after growing up with a father who did not know how to read and write. She is grateful to God for giving her the opportunity to be a CPP student.

Azucena is a Spanish major at Cal Poly Pomona. She is passionate about literature and art. She has a deep love and pride for Latin culture. She aspires to become a Spanish professor. Azucena is excited to be part of the Harvest International team this semester and to have the opportunity to write. She believes that when we write we give our soul a voice.

Cindy Inzunza is a fourth year English Literary Studies major at Cal Poly Pomona. She hopes to enter the world of editing and publishing after graduation. The opportunity to work on Harvest is a great introduction into this world and will be a beneficial experience for her future goals. Cindy is passionate about the power of storytelling in all its forms, including: literature, music, film and writing. Her ultimate goal would be to become a writer and inspire others with her own stories.
Simrah Khan

Simrah Khan is a third year English Literary Studies major and is excited to be joining Harvest. She is looking forward to reading the amazing submissions this semester, and is eager to contribute some of her own work. Simrah loves reading and is a huge nerd; both of these interests have led to one of her passions, creative writing. Along with Harvest, Simrah is also a Peer Mentor with the APISC at CPP, where she helps new students adjust to college life ─ because we all know the struggle is real. Simrah lives by her own advice, “Sometimes when the struggle is too real, just take a nap.”

Daniela Mulvihill is a fourth-year transfer student from Mount San Jacinto Community College. She is pursuing a degree in English Literary Studies at Cal Poly Pomona. As a self-proclaimed introspective individual, she enjoys keeping a daily journal as a constructive, creative outlet. A few of her current literary influences are Neil Geiman, Michael Chabon, Kurt Vonnegut, and Joan Didion. She enjoys creative writing, digital media, and is excited to join the Harvest International publishing team.
Jocelyn Ramos

Jocelyn Ramos is an English Literary Studies major and is ecstatic about contributing to Harvest International. For Jocelyn, Harvest International is an opportunity to bond with her peers over literature, editing, and creative writing. Jocelyn’s favorite authors include Toni Morrison, Maya Angelou and Gloria Anzaldúa. Jocelyn works for the Mt. SAC Child Development Center as an Infant/Toddler teacher. The children she cares for inspire Jocelyn’s creative spirit in creative writing and art, as Jocelyn believes working with young children is to experience the human soul. Jocelyn aspires to one day publish a children’s picture book. In her spare time, Jocelyn enjoys cooking, painting, writing new stories, and of course, reading.
Bertha Romero

Bertha Beatriz Romero is a third year Spanish major at Cal Poly Pomona. One day, she hopes to teach Spanish at the high school level, inspiring and motivating students to pursue their dreams. Bertha loves nature, photographs, reading, singing, writing poetry, and reflecting on the lessons learned through the course of her life. She is a true believer that in life, everything is possible; our limitations are only in our minds, manifested by our fears. She loves to inspire and persuade others to never give up. Her motto is to live one day at a time. Her best inspiration is God. Bertha believes God is the one who gives her the strength to get up everyday, especially when she feels discouraged. For Bertha, being part of the Harvest International Journal is a great opportunity to grow as a writer and interact with others. Bertha loves to learn.
Roxanne Snow

Roxanne Snow is a 4th year English Studies Literary major. She has loved reading ever since she was a little girl and her favorite genres are Fantasy, Dystopian, and Romance. When she is not reading and writing, she loves traveling the world and has been to nine different countries. Apart from being an avid traveler, Roxanne has a passion for the performing arts. She loves acting and dancing and is a former performer for The Walt Disney Company with Disney Cruise Line. Roxanne is looking forward to adding some pixie dust to Harvest International!
Stephanie Weiner

Stephanie Alisha Weiner is an English Literary Studies major and will be graduating this Spring. She participated in the Spring 2019 Poet’s Circle led by Dr. Aaron DeRosa, has had her poetry and fiction published in Harvest International Journal in the Spring and Fall of 2019, and continues to write poetry to this day. In her free time, she likes to take pictures of plants, have a good laugh, and pretend to understand the inner workings of her dog’s mind. She also owns a ukulele and plays it very poorly. Her goal in life is to write books and have people read them.
