Phoenix Scott DeHuff

Co-Editor

Phoenix Scott is an editor-in-chief of Cal Poly Pomona’s Harvest International for the Spring Semester of 2021. He is 20 years old and currently finishing his junior year with a major in English Literary Studies. Before being selected as editor-in-chief for Harvest, Phoenix kept busy with writing as a hobby and profession. He has worked as a tutor and script writer for fun in his personal time. Mr. Scott has a passion for the arts, and has been acting, writing, and playing music from a very young age. His constant involvement with the arts and passion for literature has made for a seamless transition into his role as Harvest International’s editor-in-chief.

Navneet Singh

Co-Editor

Navneet Singh is an English Education major at Cal Poly Pomona and will be graduating this Spring. After graduating, she plans to pursue a Master's degree in Rhetoric and Composition with an emphasis on Feminist rhetoric. She is open to all genres, but her favorite literature stems from the Early Modern England era. Navneet is excited to be part of Harvest this semester, and hopes to uncover the amazing writers Cal Poly has to offer and showcase their work.

Jacqueline Vela

Co-Editor

Jacqueline “Jackie” Vela is an English Literary Studies major who’s in her third year at Cal Poly Pomona. She likes good puns, two-for-ones, and Twilight Zone reruns. After Cal Poly, she hopes to continue on to Loyola Marymount’s dual degree program at their school of Education and Law. Jackie’s also excited to work with the talented people of this semester’s Harvest International team.

Liam Corley

Advisor

Dr. Liam Corley has been fostering the arts at Cal Poly since 2005. He’s coordinated a longstanding poetry workshop while teaching American Literature and Creative Writing in the English & Modern Languages Department.

He is excited to be a part of the phenomenal Harvest Spring 2021 staff!

Nohemi Yoselin Grande Gallardo

Submissions Team Lead/Web Design and MGMT Team

Nohemi is an English Literature Studies major, looking to minor in accounting or finance. She enjoys reading classic novels which are usually found in an English course syllabus. Her non-fiction interests have grown through books such as The Feminine Mystique and My Own Words. She enjoys writing and falling into deep philosophical spirals which break her faith in autonomy. Then she just tries to forget about it all the next morning and go to class. She enjoys feeling strong by building up muscles at the gym and finds that one of the best stress relievers in life is running.

Jessica Magana

Event Coordination Team Lead/Advertising Team

When she’s not attending the rollercoaster ride that is college she’s spending the other majority of her time devoted to her job in television production that grows more into a passion as she explores the different aspects of entertainment. She’s always had a love for film and television wishing her life was an 80’s John Hughes film. In the spare time she finds for herself she manages multiple fan made social media accounts for popular films/artists in pop culture to grow that particular fan base and engage with other devoted fans. As her time at Cal Poly Pomona comes to end she feels confident knowing that the time she has spent in the English department has prepared her intellectually and creatively for any direction she decides to take her career in.

Logan Blake

Copyediting Team

Logan is in his final semester in English Literary Studies. Other than holding an inveterate love for literature, he also loves philosophy, music, and cinema. Aside from those loves, he loves vocal flanging and the motorik beat, reading Kundera and Burroughs, virtue and metaphysics, and Beksinski and Cronenberg. He also loves cinnamon gum and sardonicism and the wind and wearing dress shoes that click at every step. He does not love the dissociative effect of writing autobiographies in third-person.

Sabrina Diaz

Web Design and MGMT Team Lead/Submissions Team

Sabrina is an odd being evolved from years of clumsiness, loud-mouthing, and book collecting. She has finally made it to her senior year and hopes nothing jinxes her chances at obtaining the mystical piece of paper promised at the start of her journey. Sabrina enjoys the smells of rain on pavement and early mornings in California (which have a very distinct smell). In her free time, you can find her sleuthing her bookshelves for something to read, battling fiends in a virtual world, or communing with her black cat, Pandora. After ten years of undergrad, she is still uncertain about her career goals, but she has always enjoyed teaching, writing, and libraries. Perhaps she will be a teaching, writing librarian. She hopes to enact equity and change within literacy and academia.

As a singer she enjoys the arts, and is excited to work alongside some of her amazing peers and collaborate this semester!
