Haruki Murakami's Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World

Haruki Murakami does it again and is able to create a wonderful narrative that keeps you captivated with every turn of the page. This science fiction novel combines unicorn skulls, a detective story, Japanese mythology, and a split narrative all into one. One of his earliest books, Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World (1895) launched Haruki Murakami to international success. Now reader be warned, Mr. Murakami challenges you with a mad scientist plot, two stories simultaneously being told that intertwine into one narrative, and a constant reminder that reality may not be what it seems. Nonetheless, you are rewarded with an amazing story at the end.
